Covid19 book returns procedure

During the Partnered Instruction Model of Learning the following returns procedure will be used.

  1. All books borrowed by students prior to 1 September 2020 must be returned as soon as possible.
  2. Books can be returned to the library during the school day to the designated return boxes on level 1 and level 2 of the ISB ES Library.
  3. Books will be isolated overnight to allow for safe processing of returns.
  4. The following day, books will be scanned in and re-shelved.
  5. Students can borrow an additional book if they have returned all their books checked out prior to 1 September 2020.

What happens if you lose or damage a book?

It is very important students/parents notify the library as soon as possible about lost or damaged item(s).

Water damage: This can be minimised if students keep water bottles and library books separated.

The following process is followed:

  1. Library staff print out the 'items checked out' report and highlight the item.
  2. A replacement cost form is completed. The replacement cost is calculated using the ISB set exchange rate and includes handling and processing that may have been incurred to purchase the books.
  3. The notice is given to the student or parent.
  4. Payment is collected at the Box Office located on the 2nd floor.
  5. The payment receipt processed by the Box Office must be returned to the Library so that it can be cleared from the library account.
  6. The Library keeps the payment receipt for lost books. If the item is found and returned at a later date, the receipt may be returned to the Box Office for a refund.
